Hello, long story short McMyAdmin people were rude about my community comment so yes. Any non rude alternatives? I know there is Multicraft and that I am using currently however it's not the best but 'does works'.
I am just wondering if there is anything better. These are the things I am hoping I can get with an alternative panel. • Simple to use for users • Remote FTP availability • accurate RAM metering (none of this always being at '100% utilization' no matter what crap) • Able to configure disk space allocation either by per server and/or user • live console and chat • Able to run any.jar including such usual ones as Canary Mod Thanks in advance.
McMyAdmin is very limited because it is designed for individuals and not for game server hosting companies. It doesn't offer FTP servers, and requires that you use something like SolusVM or TCAdmin to automate the setup of MCMyAdmin in a shared environment.
Multicraft is the best out there because it offers all the functionality you want and then some. TCAdmin is pretty good, but does cost a bit, and isn't really exclusive for Minecraft. Most customers expect Multicraft directly. This comes from 3+ years in the Minecraft hosting industry. For hosting McMyAdmin 2 is oriented far more towards VPS based hosting providers than shared environments.

But automating deployment in shared environments is still trivial and done by many providers. TCA isn't requirement, it's just a convenience for hosts that use it for other things. For McMyAdmin 3/AMP however, it's much nicer in shared environments. It handles all aspects of the provisioning process for you, a single API call can spin up a new server instance for either Minecraft or any other supported application, and all you have to do is tell it where the physical target servers are Last edited by PhonicUK; at 03:27 PM. I understand the design you are implementing, but consolidating things like the FTP daemon and all of the overhead processes MCMA requires into a single daemon lowers unnecessary overhead, and makes it 10x easier for hosts to provide relative support.
It also doesn't require the use of SolusVM, which lowers the cost and complexity of what pure-Minecraft hosts are trying to achieve. Having servers belonging to different customers being run under the same daemon is very difficult to keep secure, since processes you start have the same permissions as the parent process. It also makes it damn near impossible to have proper disk quotas. One of the deployment schemes AMP supports (of which there are several) is to have a micro-daemon for each game server (which does almost nothing except look after the servers most basic functions, no panel etc, almost no resource usage) and then a centralized daemon with a panel connects to multiple daemons. It creates the daemon instances for you so you don't actually have to do anything, and you can specify which users can access which daemon instances. SolusVM isn't required for either 2 or 3, for 2 its a slightly easier way of provisioning things (many MCMA based hosts are actually VPS providers) - but there's no shortage of shared environment hosts that are not using any kind of VPS setup or third party tools like TCAdmin. It's entirely possible to do it with MCMA raw with a little bit of scripting.
